We believe that the fake website component of AVG Internet Security is the reason behind this.
Open AVG Internet Security program window, click on "Payments" and turn off fake website shield.
Turn on NordVPN and check whether it is working perfectly.

I see this come up often, and eventually a fix/workaround is found, but I find it unacceptable that NordVPN keeps being disabled after every update or so. I have reached the point where I leave AVG turned off, and have to check before opening NordVPN to see that AVG has not decided to turn itself on again! What is the problem? Are AVG trying to push their version of VPN (that, by all accounts does not work with BBCiPlayer) so each 'update' has been engineered to disable a fix introduced by NordVPN? I've been using AVG for years, and am signed up until next year, but there's no point in paying for a service that has to be disabled for normal activity to continue! Is there any response from AVG on this important issue?
