Hi, cannot use my laptop due to Windows 10 update. They have told me this is an AVG problem. Does anyone know how to access AVG in recovery so I can get my laptop working again?

This isn’t expected behavior. We’ll work through fixing this together. May I know the name of AVG program that is installed in your PC? Are you unable to log into your laptop? Do you encounter any error while trying to log in? If so, may I know the error message you encountered? Please try to reboot your laptop in safe mode and check the status.
