Rajiv, we will help you to disable the HTTP's scanning in the Web shield.
Please open the AVG Internet Security > Preferences, then share us the screenshot of the interface to assist you further.
Do check, if you can figure out the following steps:
AVG Internet Security > Preferences > Shields > Web Shield > Uncheck "Scan Browser-based HTTPS connections".
Keep us posted.
Hi Avinash,
Check Zscaler Help
I have a feeling that somehow AVG is blocking the range 100.64.0.0/16. Since this "intenral DNS" stuff cannot be whitelisted, it just does not work.
Right now, the only thing we can whitelist in AVG is a valid URL (for Web Shield)
Hello Rajiv. Thank you for your patience and I apologize for the delayed response. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team. I will help you.
With the shared screenshots you provided, I suspect there is a HTTP conflict, is what is causing this disruption. As a troubleshoot, I am going to ask that you disable HTTPs scanning in Web Shield settings, which can be done as follows:
- Open AVG Internet Security
- in menu bar click on AVG Internet Security > Preferences > Shields > Web Shield > Uncheck "Scan Browser-based HTTPS connections".
Let me know how this works for you. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Shawn
I am running version 10.15.6 (19G73) - this is latest macOS Catalina. 3GHz, 6 Core i9 CPU, with 32GB RAM.
The stress of running AVG and ZScaler on my machine is negligable. There has been no customization etc. done on the OS/Laptop.
Regards,
Rajiv
We understand your concern, Rajiv.
To investigate this further, we've sent you an email with further instructions. Please check your inbox/spam for the email and use it to revert to us.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, Rajiv.
Just to make sure it is not a browser related issue, could you try loading the Zscaler in a different web browser?
Hi Rajiv.
Are you experiencing this issue on a Mac device?
We'd request you to share a screenshot of the issue.
Hi Santosh,
I found it in Mac (under Preference –> Shields). Disabeling "Scan Browser-based HTTPS connections".
What is the side-effect of this?
Rajiv, we appreciate your efforts.
We are glad to know that the issue has been fixed.
HTTPS scanning is a component of Web Shield in AVG Antivirus. HTTPS scanning protects your PC against malware delivered by TLS and SSL encrypted HTTPS traffic when you browse the web. This feature is enabled by default, but you can disable it in Web Shield settings.
If you disable HTTPS scanning, any malware delivered by HTTPS traffic is hidden by TLS/SSL encryption and your computer is more vulnerable to threats.
Let us know, if you need further help.
I did some combination of installs and uninstalls. Everytime in uninstalled, I removed items from Library etc. to ensure nothign is lingering on.
- Install AVG followed by Zscaler. This did not fix the issue.
