Hi everybody,
I am having the same problem. I tried removing and re-installing as well with no luck. I also tried the above solution of clearing my cache but nothing worked it continues to crash at 99% everytime.
Hi, there is a similar problem on the message board but I have been unable to comment on it. I have exactly the same scenario as below. Please advise. Thanks, Gemma
"I've been using this program for while now and it worked just fine. After an update it started crashing when trying to start a scan of the entire Mac, after highlighting two threats. After restarting the program it sometimes works, but it will not move the threats into quarantine or allow me to delete them. I am using a Mac Book Pro Retina (August 2016) and the latest OS (10.12.3).
The problem first occurred after it detected a JS-Nimda-B trojan but was unable to delete it or put it into quarantine. This problem stopped occurring after an update of the virus definitions, but the crashes continue to happen.
A complete uninstall, fresh start and new download did not solve the problem."
Hello Tyler,
I understand that you're trying to reinstall AVG program on your Mac computer and the installation is crashing at 99%. Please let us know your Mac operating system version, which AVG program you're trying to install (AVG Free Antivirus/paid Antivirus/AVG PC TuneUp) and also if possible please share a screenshot if the error message (crash at 99%) to assist you further. You can check the following link to see the instructions about taking the screenshot (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361).
Best regards,
Alok.

Hi Jay,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused. It’s a malicious JavaScript, probably found in customer’s browser cache. It was probably found on some site that they visited, and was already running in the browser, leaving your Mac no worse for it. It may have done something like display a scam pop-up or something similar, or may have attempted to infect the machine via Windows vulnerabilities (which would not work on your Mac). We can safely ignore this. If customer clear your browser's caches, that should fix the issue.
Please refer to the following link for more information regarding the issue : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7901091?start=0&tstart=0
Thank you!
Karthikeyan,
I am one of the multiple AVG AntiVirus for Mac users experiencing the JS-Nimda-B trojan and subsequent application crash of the AVG AntiVirus for Mac @ 99% of scan. I have had two subsequent AVG updates to the application but it still fails to complete a scan. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the AntiVirus for Mac application twice. The problem remains. Please help!
Thanks,
Jay
