AVG Antivirus FREE won't update...Also the program reads "! There are no active components" In Red!

Seems there are a lot of people having this problems where AVG is unable to update which means in the meantime…no virus protection.  Afraid to uninstall since it seems there is problems after doing that?  Perplexed?

If I have already tried to uninstall using the same instructions you sent me should I try again or just use the AVG remover tool?
I did not do a screenshot with the screen that came up it looked exactly as the one for the
Repair Failed but it read:

UINSTALLATION FAILED 
Sorry, we’ve experienced a problem during initialization.  Find out why (https://support.avg.com/?l=en) you may have encountered this error.
Description: General error (0x0782)
Error code: 0xC0070782
 
If this issue still persists, let an AVG expert install and optimize your software for you.

We kindly request you to use the AVG remover tool and uninstall the previous installation of the AVG program and try to reinstall the AVG Free program using the instructions on the article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free and check whether it resolves the issue.

Thank you for providing the screenshot of the error that appeared for repair.
Please try it once and if the error occurs, please go ahead with the reinstallation of AVG program using the AVG remover tool as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1DEtNP0 .
If you are using the AVG Free antivirus then please use this link: http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Protection_Free_1606.exe to download the installation file of it.

Had done this once but will try it again…got this error message.User-added image
