Hi Vishnu
Here is the screenshot.
I am having trouble installing AVG AntiVirus Free. I have downloaded the file and clicked install, it starts installing but then says there is an error message Oxc007001d.
My windows system is XP service pack 3.
I have installed the AVG AntiVirus on two laptops with no problems.
Can anyone help please?
Hi Vishnu
Here is the screenshot.
Hi Alok
I have downloaded the AVG Remover tool and run it no problem.
I have downloaded the AVG clear tool but it will not run, just gives a noise like I have wrong clicked on something.
Thanks

AVG Guru
Russell,
We will try one more time to run AVG Clear tool.
May I know if you have rebooted your computer after AVG Remover tool? If not, please reboot your computer once and follow the below simple steps:
-Click here to download AVG Clear tool.
-Run the downloaded file, click NO if it's ask you to reboot your computer in safe mode.
-Select Zen box and click clear.
If the issue still persists, then please share a screenshot of the error message to proceed further.
Regards,
Alok.
Thank you for the confirmation Russell,
The issues might be because of old/previous AVG traces.
In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Antivirus free. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version.
Please follow the instruction (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool (we have to run both tools to remove all the AVG traces).
After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install AVG Antivirus Free.
Regards,
Alok.
Thank you for providing the screenshots Russell,
Yes, we have received your screenshots. Please make sure that your Windows XP SP 3 computer have minimum of 256 MB RAM or above and 2 GB free space on the hard disk.
May I know if you have installed AVG Antivirus or any security program on your Windows XP computer before (you can go to control panel > program and features to check the installed program)?
Regards,
Alok.
Hi Alok
There is 512mb RAM and 37.4 GB of free space.
There was a paid version of AVG on the computer for the last six years. I uninstalled this and also used the AVG Remover tool.
Thanks
