Hello, Jagan.
Yes, you can backup the current settings of AVG and restore them later after a re installation.
1. Open AVG Anti Virus free.
2. Click on Menu -> Settings -> General.
3. Click on Backup Settings and choose which settings would you like to backup.
4. Follow the on screen instructions to save them to a location on your PC.
5. After re installation, please navigate through the same path, click on Restore settings.
It is sad that AVG lets you install free trial and when the trial period expires, compels you to buy it or uninstall the full free version itself. Anyway, I would have been happy if you had given me the solution to recover my exceptions list.
Jagan Mohanan.
My AVG stopped working and so I have to reinstall it. But I have set up a few files which are to be exempted from scanning. (Exceptions). It will be difficult and time consuming to add those files to exceptions after reinstalling. So I want to know how I can recover my exceptions list. If there is a path to the location of the exceptions database or the file containing the exceptions list I would be very happy to get it.
Thank You
Jagan Mohanan
I am sorry to say that had the trial period not elapsed, I would not have experienced this problem and if I had known that this is going to happen at the end of trial period, I would not have opted for the trial. Please stop giving silly excuses. As long as AVG was AVG, everything was fine. Once Avast came in, it is explicit that things are not so good. Trial is trial. If I do not want it, I opt out. But to force a customer to buy it by invalidating the free installation does not seem ethical. If you are offerring something free, it does not mean that nobody is paying for it. You are making money out of the free installations through other sources. Anyway, Sorry to tell you that I am very unhappy. There is a saying "Beggars can not be choosers". If you are trying to make beggars out of customers by not letting them choose what they want, that is too bad.
The problem is that I am not allowed to open AVG. It is forcing me to buy Internet Security Trial. Nothing else is working. Please refer screenshot.
Jagan,
As the trial period is elapsed now, it is not possible to access the settings to back them up. We would have been able to assist you if you had contacted us before it is expired. However, we would like to take this as your valuable feedback and pass it up to concern people.

Thank you for explaining the situation with the screenshot.
Unfortunately, we have to proceed with the re-installation of AVG program when this message appears.
It is necessary for you to add the exceptions again, if the trusted applications was blocked by AVG.
Run AVG removal tool followed by AVG Clear tool as mentioned (here) to remove the traces.
NOTE: If there are no AVG program found, click on "Run Anyway" to proceed with the removal.
