AVG AntiVirus keeps showing pop-ups "Threat secured - we prevented your connection to" memtebseeh.com & esteemcountryside.com

For days and days AVG AntiVirus keeps bugging me with pop-ups saying:

Threat secured - we prevented your connection to memtebseeh.com

and

Threat secured - we prevented your connection to esteemcountryside.com

The only problem is that I never connected to any of these websites.
So something in the background must connect to them.

2 QUESTIONS:

  1. what is connecting to these websites?
  2. how to stop and prevent this?

See attached screenshot (could only post one since I am a new member):

I have exact pop-ups with the same URL and it’s already showing for days. Have you found any solution?

No Elyene. I am still having this issue. I am trying to detect what causes it, but so far, I am clueless.

I have the same problem, keep coming up, really annoying

UPDATE: this seems to be extension-related. Create a shortcut on your desktop to executable “chrome.exe” with the fullpath to the executable pre-fixed, and add command line parameter “–disable-extensions” as shown below:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-extensions

Doubleclick the icon to fire-up Google Chrome and start browsing. You will notice that the AVG AntiVirus pop-up “We prevented your connection to [site]” no longer shows up. This indicates that the AVG pop-ups are caused by a recently installed or updated Google Chrome extension.
