AVG auto updates disable browsers

Hi Charles,
We will certainly look into this for you.
May I ask you the version of AVG Internet security installed on your PC? To find: Open AVG Internet Security > Menu > About.
Does the error occur when you launch all browsers? Share the screenshot of the error message and you can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Very recently I had to re-install AVG Internet Security (without default Google Chrome install)  - to my dismay the installation resulted in neither Firefox or Internet Explorer able to open (error: application failed to start correctly 0xc0000005) - tried all the fixes found online - none worked. Finally found that using offline install procedure for the main file and the offline update file, my browsers were back in business! Until AVG auto updated… Apparently the online installer is causing this issue… and further it is a KNOWN issue judging by all the "fixes" tried by others.

I'm not paying for AVG to cause problems - I'm paying AVG to prevent problems. So the question is WHEN WILL AVG PROVIDE A SOLUTION???
