AVG blocking incoming emails in Outlook

I use AVG Free and Microsoft Outlook. Ever since an AVG update late last year, I've been unable to use the AVG email scanning because it blocks all of my incoming emails. I was hoping a subsequent update would fix this, but it still seems to be an issue. Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution?
