thanks for the reply. i think we are getting closer to a solution hopefully. A number of things, i cant click on the hackers protection but i can access the firewall under the components tab in the setings page. this does indeed alow me to see under the policies tab a button for packet rules. This window however doesnt seem to allow me to add any ports as i cant propogate the relavant feilds for the ports. i dont know why this would be like this. any help would be much apreciated even if there was a way to get rid of avg zen and have some other interface this would be helpful at this point. many thanks in advance.
i cant seem to find where i can control the firewall. i am running windows 7 on a desktop with avg zen installed and a avg ultimate package. any help appreciated.
Hello Timothy,
We are sorry to know that the game is being blocked by AVG. To fix this issue, we suggest you to add the game file location to the AVG firewall rule and see if that fix the issue. Instead of the IP address add the game path in the firewall rule and see if that fix the issue.
Thank you.
Hello Timothy,
We are sorry for the delay in response and inconvenience caused.
Unfortunately, without AVG Zen interface the program wouldn't work.
Zen is the interface and it doesn't cause these kind of issues.
If you are able to get into the Packet Rules of AVG Firewall then you should be able to enter the port number and apply the settings.
We are request you to perform the repair of AVG Protection program alone by following the instructions as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and check whether the issue persists.

We would like to inform you that firewall settings can be modified from AVG Internet Security dashboard but not the AVG Zen dashboard. Open AVG Zen, click on Internet Security component to launch AVG Internet Security interface.
Click on Hackers Protection to open firewall component and then click on Advanced settings or Packet rule.
There you must be able to allow the required ports.
Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance.
thanks for the advise. could you possibly tell me how to find that option in avg zen. i cant seem to find either the ports or trusted programs or firewall rule.
