AVG Blocks logging into Secure Sites

Hi Cyrus,

This feature shouldn't be causing such issues. I'd recommend running complete re-installation of your AVG http://avgclick.me/howtoreinstallAVG. If the issue persists after the re-install then please send us log files and sample sites using this http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe tool.

Thanks

Hi,
My paid-for AVG updated today to version 2016.0.7227.
Found that I could no longer get secure sites to show on the browser - instead showed certificate error message. IE Explorer and Chrome made no difference.
I did not have a problem in the version before the update.
Temporarily disabling AVG brought the websites up again.
Found that in  "Web Browsing Protection/Online Shield/Expert Setting" there is an option "Scan Encrypted(TLS andSSL) network traffic."
If I disabled this option, everthing worked again.
Anybody come up against this problem? Should this be disabled everytime one wants to log on to a secure site? Is there any detrimental effect of leaving this off?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Regards
