AVG blocks VPN-function in OPERA-browser

Hi Akash,

With VPN off I haven't noticed if the rest of the computer is operationg slower or faster.
IO'm using the FULL version, in trial period (just installed it some days ago for the first time). Strange though: tehre was the tune-up program that did say it was only valid for 1 day (should be 30), but yesterday it told me that the trial period was over.

Can it be that the AVG cleanup/tuneup did some modifications that should heve been done? I treid to restore them all, but maybe there were some irreversible?

Awaiting further instructions.

Grtz.,
Jaap

Hi Sareth,

I'm sorry to report that this doesn't solved the issue.
After repairing "AVG Protection" I do still have to disable AVG, close Opera, restart Opera and enable AVG and then is works again.

BTW, as I told before, I noticed that a lot of actions do take more time than before I installed AVG. Mounting a Virtual Hard Disc takes ages. Starting or answering a mail more time. Opening and playing a video. Even I had a problem when printing for the first time after I in stalled AVG. the printer kept "off line" I had to reboot the computer (left printer on) and then is was online …

Please your cure for all this …

Grtz.,
Jaap

Hello Jaap,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please follow the instructions to change the Firewall settings and check if that works: Open AVG Zen -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the networks from Public to Private (If it is in Private, change it to Public).

Please follow the instructions and feel free to contact us for further help.

Thank you.

Well Sarath, I'm back.

After done what you suggested, all went well.
That is, up to today. Now Opera in VPN-mode doesn't work anymore, just like before. Tried with/without AVG, and yes, it's AVG that is to blame.
So, what now? I cannot go remove/reinstall AVG every week!

Jaap

Installed AVG from scratch (new installation), and have had performance and settings checked.
Now OPERA-VPN doens't work anymore. Tried to find changed settings, couldn't find. Dit restore changes made by AVG, no result. Had Opera removed en reinstalled, still no VPN.
What have I done and how can I reverse this?

Hi Jaap,
We are sorry to hear that the issue still persists, could you check if after turning the VPN Off your computer is operating faster. Also, could you tell us if you're using a Paid/FREE version of AVG?
Thank you!

Jaap,
We regret the inconvenience caused. Are you able to access windows Live mail and VPN without any issues while AVG is disabled http://avgclick.me/TempDisableAVG and do you use our paid version or trial version of AVG PC Tuneup?

Hi Pandi,

Thaks for your reply. Did change private into piblic. no change. So I set it back to private.

BTW: some (long) time after my postsing the requested page in opera came up. It took unbelievingly long. There is datacommunication, but v-e-r-y-v-e-r-y  s-l-o-w. Before I installed AVG it was speedy like Firefox. WHen I tunr VPN off, the speed in Opera is back. When I turn VPN on, it keeps connecting and connecting. I tried different locations, as well as the optimal location, but thay all take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to respond.
BTW2: I noticed that AVG has made MORE changes to my computer that weren't restored when I restored all changes. So was my compouter not more visible in the homenetwork. Maybe related?

Please your solution ....!

Grtz.,
Jaap
