Unfortunately, AVG doesn't have such option to monitor.
Let us know if you've any other queries and we'd be happy to assist you.
Thank you for understanding.

We are not sure whether the exception was added correctly.
If you have reached out early before updating we may have checked on it.
Please monitor the issue since you already updated the program if any issues please get back to us so that we can check and help you further.

Thank you for writing us back. We appreciate your efforts, John.
Regretably we don't have such option to monitor the changes.
If you notice that the program isn't automatically updated, then please use the below article to do it manually.

Thank you.

Thanks Lathika. Strangely enough, even though my AVG is set to auto-update, the virus definitions had been updated but the application did not have the March 31st update instaled.

I updated it manually, restarted … and all was fine!

One question: why didn't my putting the LinkedIn URL as an exception in AVG fix the problem I was having?

John

Thanks Delli. I didn't find anywhere in the extension to add an exception so I put it in the usual place.

I am very surprised that, even though I had AVG set to auto-update, it didn't do that for the March 31st update! Previously, auto-update worked just fine!

Any ideas why it didn't work?

Thanks,

John

Thanks Lathika. That is exactly what I did: I disabled the AVG Online Security Extension.

It was when you asked me in the first reply to make sure AVG was up to date that I noticed it wasn't!

After that, I enabled the extension again…

FYI, I restart my computer every evening prior to my backup running. I beleive that this is the first time that AVG hasn't auto-updated as I see messages that it has updated every once in a while. Do you have a changelog I can monitor for changes to the app?

John

Thanks Lathika. I have an app that I use to monitor web pages and it tells me when there are changes.

Here is an example changelog for Snag-It (TechSmith calls it a Version History):

Snagit Windows Version History – TechSmith Support

Does AVG have a similar changelog/version history?
