AVG browser keeps adding unwanted shortcuts

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Usually browsers, will pin the frequently visited websites as thumbnails/shortcuts on your browser for ease of access.
It would not revert as soon as you close & reopen the browser. From your description, we're uncertain about the icons to which you refer. 
Would you be so kind to share us the screenshot of it for better clarity?

I made AVG browser my default browser, but each time I use it, it adds shortcuts to the home page that I've already deleted over & over, along with some new ones for websites that I've never even visited. How can I get rid of them and stop getting new ones?
