Hello John,
Let's have a look at it together.
Please share the screenshot of error message you received while trying to delete duplicate files. Are you trying to resolve this issue on your Android device?
Attached is the screen shot results of AVG Cleaner duplicate finder being run on my Mac OS Mojave V 10.14.4.
Hello John,
We appreciate your patience.
We got the information that this can be caused by multiple reasons, such as system permissions, file(s) is in use by other program, or file is protected by system.
It is normal that some files are not possible to delete.
Thank you.
Thank you for your patience, John.
Upon checking this with our next level of support, we heard back that AVG Cleaner will remove duplicate files in macOS, but not some duplicates generated by 3rd party apps. Let us attempt to explain this clearly.
If you use a 3rd party app to share your files/pictures to others, then the particular app will create a duplicate in it's own privileges, to share easier.
If these duplicates are removed, then you might lose some saved work or conversation. Example would be a picture sent via Messenger app.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
As I understand it, this function is to find and delete duplicates that are not needed and are taking up HD space unnecessarily thus freeing space that could be used for something important. When duplicates are listed I take that to mean there are 2 copies of something and AVG Cleaner Duplicate Finder is supposed to delete one of the copies. Looking at your response, am I to understand that the Duplicate Finder does not do what it is supposed to do? Seems this would make the application worthless.
I have recently installed AVG Cleaner and run duplicate finder. The results were that there are several items that are duplicates. Unfortunately, the result also says they cannot be removed. I seriously question the value of a product that cannot do what it is supposed to do. As the duplicates are obviously taking up space, how do I delete these duplicates?
