Alok, Many Thanks. Apps management did not provide option to clear cache for Cleaner. However I did a force stop and restart and now seems to be working OK. Many thanks again.

Please be informed that the issue might be with Android system files conflict. We request you to reset AVG Cleaner app once and check for the situation. This will reset the configuration of the app to defaults. To do so, navigate to the location mentioned below.
Device Menu -> Settings -> Apps/Application Management -> AVG Cleaner app-> Tap on clear cache and clear data -> Force stop the app , Restart the device once and check if your AVG Cleaner is working fine.

Running cleaner with Android 6. Cleaner identifies hidden cache about 800Mb and when requested to delete appears to run OK. However cache is not deleted. No improvement in available storage or in reported cache. Is this a problem with Cleaner of with Android 6 which I understand has restrictions in this area. Appreciate any comments.
