Could you reinstall AVG Internet Security on your aunt's computer and check whether the issue with internet persist?
Run AVG clear followed by remover tool as mentioned in this article to remove traces of AVG.
Proceed to install AVG Internet Security as mentioned in this article after the removal and then check the status.

Use the code that we have sent via email now for actvation.
To disable AVG campaign popups, open AVG Internet Security program window.
Click on "Menu–>Settings–>General–>Personal Privacy".
Uncheck the box that says "Show offers for our other products".

A recent AVG update has crippled my Aunts internet connection. The only way she can get onto the internet is to disable AVG firewall. Doubtless I'll have to run your removal and clear tools, and reinstall AVG on her PC.
I pay for a 7 seat AVG license ! I have MUCH better things to do with my time, than problem solve problems introduced by the misbehaviour and/or POOR programming of AVG.
I'm also NOT happy with AVG's recent SCAREMONGERING / ADVERTISING TECHNIQUES, and NUISANCE POP-UPS coming from a LICENSED product.
I will not be renewing again with AVG, and will choose a different interent security suite.
