AVG detects RiftIntelFusionTool updatecheck.exe as FileRepMalware [Misc] (Microsoft Store)

Hello,

after installing the latest Windows Store update for the Rift app, AVG detected the file updatecheck.exe from the RiftIntelFusionTool app as FileRepMalware [Misc] and automatically moved it to quarantine.

Detected file path:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\36690Nohus.RIFTIntelFusionTool_5.19.0.0_x64__y193x6xbg7nmg\updatecheck.exe

This detection appeared immediately after the update installation.

I would like to know:

  • Is this a known false positive?

  • Have other users experienced the same issue?

  • Is there an official recommendation from AVG regarding this file?
