Apologies for the late reply. Thank you very much for your feedback.
I have since been able to solve my problem by choosing the option to ‘repair’ the software. My license is through my IT service provider in South Africa, Mweb – I pay an amount monthly and my cover runs automatically month to month. I don’t know how the licensing works in this case, exactly, but my license number and expiry date are detailed under the AVG support section.

Hi my AVG does not want to scan, dashboard says there are "no active components". All components shown as "unknown".
When I try to update it says "an error occurred when saving the configuration: The connection is off-line"
When I choose the 'reactivate' option, it asks for a new license number. My license only expires in December 2017.
Your help would be greatly appreciated
