Try reverting the updates done by AVG Driver Updater and check the sound status of your PC.
To perform that, open AVG Driver Updater window. Click on "Restore" and check the box that says "sound".

Pop-up window continually pops up stating a new version of the the AVG Driver updater is available. This appears to be installed successfully but when Finnish is clicked the window just pops up again. This just keeps going endlessly. My PC has also lost its sound at the same time.
Also finding it almost impossible to contact AVG from Australia. Surely clients should be able to contact AVG directly when neccessary?
