Hello AVG, can you please give instructions how to remove the scheduled task - AVG EUpdate Task
I've tried your AVG removal tool but it refuses to delete this entry.
The task cannot be Stopped End or Deleted.
I tried both tools from Normal and Safe mode but there is no change.
If I try to make a change to the task properties such a delete the trigger entries but I am presented with the an account login dialog box when trying to close the window. I don't have that account listed in my logon windows screen. I don't know the password it requires and tried a few simple ones such admin but it just presents another dialogue box with an error code.
There was an "AVG" folder within "Program Files (x86)" directory which I deleted previously.
A check of the Task Scheduler shows that "AVG EUpdate task" is still present.
I have run both AVG Remover and AVG Clean tools in normal and safe mode.
I selected to remove both AVG Free and AVG Security. (I ran the cleaning tools several times.)
AVG was removed a few years ago using possibly the "Add Remove Programs" from Control Panel method I can't be 100% sure though as I may have used the AVG uninstall shortcut?
So I have to select the "Run Anyway" option of the Remover tool.
This PC was originally Win7 Home and was freely forced upgrade to Windows10 via the sneaky Microsoft auto update method.
Any action I try to make changes to the AVG task always prompts me to enter a password for some unknown account I never created. See attached image previously and below.
Can't add the images (the image buttons keeps asking for a URL not a file location) so here is the original post where you can find them.
