AVG failing with Cisco NAC Agent

Hi Aaron, I will help you resolve the issue, may I know which AVG program have you installed in your computer?  and I understand the NAC software stops you from accessing internet as it detects AVG is not updated but are you able to update the AVG program manually using the update option ? .

Similar to others, at my university, I'm required to have Cisco's NAC Agent verify my system has met certain requirements, an up to date antivirus for instance, in order to connect to the internet. AVG had been working for a couple months, but one day the definitions date read 00/00/0000 on the NAC Agent and ever since then it has not changed. Consequently, I cannot connect to the internet because Cisco thinks AVG is out of date. I have tried reinstalling (removing and doing a clean reinstall), updating, using factory settings, pretty much all the least-risky solutions. All my efforts have failed. Has anyone else had this problem and knows the solution?

Dear Hariharkumar,

I had done a clean install so it was the version from the exe file titled "avg_free_stb_all_5961p1_177."  I'm assuming it was the most recent version (I had just reinstalled a few days ago from the AVG website, which redirected me to CNET) due to the fresh download, and the problem had persisted for many weeks prior to my posting this question (I had to remove AVG and install another antivirus to access the internet). I am able to update the program manually and it still does it automatically, but the Cisco program just doesn't read the definitions date. Otherwise AVG had been running great and as expected.

Hi Aaron, I apologize for the inconvenience. It seems that the AVG program installed in your computer is updating successfully. So the issue is more related to NAC program. In this case, I request you to contact Support Service of 'Cisco' who will be able to assist you further. Thank you.
