AVG firewall blocking casting

When AVG enhanced firewall is on I cannot cast a TV or a wireless display adapter. When I turn it off, I have no problems. What can I do to keep using the firewall while casting?

The issue has been resolved.

But my recommendation to others is to understand that your internet wireless network could be different to a smart TV or a Wireless Display Adapter (that was my case) when I was casting. For my case, the name that appear when I use the command "windows + K" was "Roku Smart TV" but the network ID name that AVG firewall was blocking was "network9". They were the same network but Windows and AVG have different ID for it. When I select "I trust this network" to "network9" I was able to cast.

My OS is windows 11.

I was able to cast! I had to select the "I trust this network" specifically to the wireless device (which is different from my wireless internet network). The only way I was able to identify the wireless device network ID was through a blocked notification on the AVG alerts.

NOTE: Windows 10 allowed AVG firewall rule to be changed.  Windows 11 does not.

AVG firewall setting has a RULE that cannot be changed that prevents casting.
I had to TURN OFF AVG Firewall because of this and I am using the WINDOWS FIREWALL.

I am using all of the other AVG products (PAID SUBSCRIPTION), but not AVG Firewall.

I am able to CAST to Roku now.

Miguel, we're glad to know that the issue has been resolved.
If you select the network as "I do not trust this network" (Public networks), AVG Enhanced Firewall would restrict the accessibility of the network. Each time you connect to an untrusted network, Enhanced Firewall blocks all incoming communication and applies a higher level of security to ensure your privacy and safety.
Once you marked it as private connection ("I trust this network"), it would fix the connectivity issue between the trusted network.
Please clarify whether AVG prompt everytime to set that concerned network as "I trust this network".

Hello Miguel,
Thank you for reaching AVG Support Community.
We will certainly look into it and help you.
May I know the operating system of your device in which you're facing this trouble?
Please change the network connection as private "I trust this network" in the Enhanced firewall and check the status. For more details, please refer the below article,

Thank you.
