Hello, same problem for me. Hope they can find a solution asap, this is very annoying.

Jan,

I appreciate your patience. The case is still open in our senior most technician queue. They will reply back to us soon with the resolution.

I'm having the same issue. I think because I am on VPN, AVG is trying to connect to the server and because it can't it deletes the registry entry.

Nevertheless it is a constant problem for me and i see that this thread has been abandoned here. Any update?

Hello.
The issue is back again. It seem it always come back when new update of AVG code is released. Avgsvc.exe deletes values from "ProxyServer" and "AutoConfigURL" keys in registry hive [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]. It happens many times during the day. How to configure AVG to prevent it to do any changes in Windows registry?

Was there any solution provided for this? I have exactly the same problem. AVGSvc.exe repeatedly deletes proxy settings.

Hello Jan,

May I ask how you narrowed this down to AVG? Have you received any error message stating that AVG has been removed the IE AutoConfigURL? If so please provide the screenshot http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot to check and assist further. Since AVG will not remove any files in the services.
Do also let us know if the "IE AutoConfigURL" file is removed after restarting your PC or when you open the IE browser.

Service AVGSvc.exe repeatedly deletes setting for IE AutoConfigURL (Use automatic configuration scripts). It removes the key AutoConfigURL from registry Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings. It is annoying to set this value again and again. Any idea how to set AVG to not delete this setting?
