I used AVG free till something went wrong. AVG became slow. I decided to uninstall it and re-install it from new. After the uninstall and a reboot I recognized that there are still some AVG processes working. I tried to install AVG again, but that wasn't possible. AVG installer reported something like: AVG is already installed.
As next i used AVG_Remover.exe to remove everything from AVG. No success. Tried again in safe mode (Windows7) and it was successful. No more processes of AVG and the AVG_Remover.exe tool reported "no AVG Products found". Ok, so now I'm was able to install AVG free. That was successful. BUT, Now AVG says, "AVG is now in passive mode. Another antivirus is running on your PC:.
But there isn't another one. Only Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. But this was never an issue.
Now I don't know what I should do to resolve this issue.

Thanks for your reply. In the meanwhile, I figured out that I had installed as well Microsoft Security Essentials. I did uninstal it and now AVG runs as it is supposed. I hope it was a good idea to uninstall the MS software.
