AVG Free - steals focus

Hello Martin,

We realize the situation. Could you take the screenshot of AVG Antivirus free program version window and attach it?
Open AVG Antivirus free program. Click on "Menu–>About" to check the version.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

We are sorry for the delay in response, Martin.
Please reinstall AVG AntiVirus and check with the issue related to loss of focus.

I tried to get a screenshot, but it is not possible.

The window is not visible to the human eye (sometime something flashes, but that may be the focus, or the mouse cursor…)

All I can see is the loss of focus (from whatever .window I work with)

I used software to monitor that it is AVG that takes the focus.
I can see that a Handle is created for the window (but it is NOT visible at the screen).
The handle exists for up to 200 ms ( IF that were painted to the screen, I would see it)

I also used (self made) software to get the DC of the window, and tried to capture it. But it is all black and remains all black (I pull every 50 milliseconds).

It appears the window is closed, before ever being painted.
But it is enough to steal the focus (and return it, yes… But still annoying).

I even tried to switch of all window animations (win 10 visual effects), to make sure if there was any content painted to the window, it would be done with no delay. But there still is nothing.

Martin, let me check with our senior team and see whether they are able to some suggestions on this matter.
Keep checking the post to know about the status. Your patience is much appreciated.

AVG routinely steals focus. (for just one second)
I noted that any app I work on will from time to time loose focus (from in between a few minutes to a few hours interval).

Logging EVENT_SYSTEM_FOREGROUND via SetWinEventHook shows that this is caused by
\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus\AVGUI.exe

and GetWindowTextA returns "AntiVirus Free"

There is (usually) no visible window appearing on my screen. However since I have several monitors, I would not have all of them always in view.
