When i first installed the program, it initiated the Virus Definition Scan, but it's been stuck at 99% for that ever since. I would like the scan to finish, but support tutorials tell me that I might need to restart my computer for that- and I'm afraid that will trigger an update on my computer. I've lost files thanks to previous updates, and I don't want to risk that happening again.
So, my AVG Free is permanently stuck at 99%. There are several problems that make it impossible to solve:
- I refuse to restart my computer, as that will trigger an unwanted update
- Task Manager can't shut it down
- When I try to uninstall so I can repair AVG, it says "Setup is already running. Please try to start the setup later." As shutting down AVG is impossible to do, uninstalling is also not available as an option.

May I know if the program is stcuk when you run a scan or when you try to install the latest updates? Are you referring to unwanted Windows update when you restart the PC?
