We're glad to look into this & help you. 
Initially, we'd like to clarify that AVG Internet Security update will not impact the functionality of USB ports. 
Please let us know whether you've performed any other software changes apart from AVG update, before the issue occurred.
Meanwhile, please restart your computer once to check if it helps (if you've not tried it earlier).

I just updated AVG Free version (used it for years) to version 21.11.3215 (build 21.11.6809.439) and now my USB will not work! This was not a Driver update.
What's happened?

Do you have any other AVG programs installed in your Windows 10 PC other than Anti-virus program?
Do you have any driver updater program installed in it?
Keep us updated.
