Matias, What was the previous AV that came with the computer?.

Hello Matias. I would request you to confirm that the previous anti virus software was completely removed from your computer. And I suggest you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install. To determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218
To download the remover tool, please click on this link: http://www.avg.com/utilities . Thank you.
Thanks for the help! I ran both removal tools before installing AVG again, but the problem still persists. Do you have any last suggestions that might help before I contact support?
I am using Windows 8.1 with AVG free 2015. When I start up the computer and AVG updates, it takes around 15 minutes for the computer to freeze. I will not be able to open any programs or use any programs already open.
What happens is this: AVG updates, then just after the update, the different components of AVG close. When I restart AVG none of the components (i.e. Identity protection, virus protection, etc.) are active and I can't activate them.
If I start my computer without a network connection nothing happens.
I am also running Comodo Firewall. I uninstalled the antivirus that came with the computer and I've tried reinstalling AVG.
Anything I can do to fix this? Any more information you need?
Thank you for your help.
