Pam, we'd be glad to clarify.
Hackers attack component in AVG Internet Security has the following features included:
- Enhanced firewall
- Password Protection
- Remote access shield
Ransomware Protection, available in the latest version of AVG Internet Security and AVG AntiVirus FREE, prevents your personal photos, documents, and files from being modified, deleted, or encrypted by ransomware attacks. Ransomware Protection automatically scans for and protects folders where your personal data might be stored.
To check which folders appear on your Protected folders list and add or remove a folder:
Open the AVG user interface and click the Computer tile.
Click Open above Ransomware Protection.
Perform your preferred action:
Add a folder: Click Protect New Folder, navigate to the folder, then click OK.
Remove a folder: Hover your cursor over the folder's panel, and click the X icon that appears. Click Stop Protecting to confirm.
Your Protected folders list is now updated.
Hi Pam,
We will help you to sort out the issue.
Are you getting any popup from AVG when you save the file in the Word document?
If so, please share us the screenshot to investigate further.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Are you able to save the file when the Hacker attacks is turned off?
Keep us posted.
I have this on my computer but can anyone tell me how it works and in particular how quickly it kicks in?
So if I create a new word document and then save it to my PC is it automatically protected or do I need to do something?
Thanks for your help Pam
