AVG has been slowing Google Chrome down 2021

AVG has been slowing Google Chrome down since around the 5th or 6th of january, im not sure the specific date as i have been generally unwell, i have been doing the same thing for a few weeks now, just watching Youtube Videos playing some easy games, chatting on one discord server.
Usual diagnosing, Firefox is fine... uninstalled chrome extensions, uninstalled the entire application, reinstalled, deleted most browsing data, uninstall/reinstalled again, then i thoguht, it best not be AVG... and it is, when this is disabled, Google Chrome runs as it should!

Steps to Reproduce:
specifics, AVG Free and im on windows 8.1, (win10 sucks)
AVG free running, chrome is laggy and slow
disable the protection
chrome now runs like it should/always had before.

This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program. Let us work towards fixing the issue.
Do you have any other security application installed in your device other than AVG?
And do you have VPN installed and enabled in your PC?

i also have Spybot Search and Destroy (installed with the different options to control features to not make it install something that conflicts with AVG and crash the computer) but this is set to update only when i tell it to, i even deleted the task scheduler entries for for auto-updating after i installed it.

these two programs are the 'good combination' ive been using for over a decade now.
i have NordVPN installed, but dont use it 24/7, i control when this is active

I have the same problem here, after the update of the last 9 December 2020.
System windows 7 milleniam 64bit and Internet security, Google chrome slowed with Internet security activated, if disable it, all come back to normal.
Firefox behave normal.
Please check the last update, some thing conflicting with Chrome.

I request you to uninstall and reinstall the AVG Antivirus and check if you face the same issue.
