AVG has slowed down my internet

I understand your concern. Please let me know if you are connected via wired or wireless connection. If you are using wireless connection, please connect via wired connection(LAN Cable) and check the Internet speed.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I request you to change AVG Firewall network profile to private (open AVG Internet Security > menu > settings > components > firewall > customize > network profile > change all the network public to private), please go to Firewall customize settings again > scroll down > click on system rules > enable all the system rules if it's not configured, please click OK and check if the download speed is same with enabled AVG Internet Security.

As noted with others, I am now experiencing a slow down of my internet to less that 1/2 speed.  200MBps to 75MBps.  I have narrowed it to AVG Internet Security, and more specifically a combination of Web Shield and Fake Website Shield, with the biggest contributor being the Web Shield.  This is a recent condition after having the software for a year.  This is ridiculous. I have a year left on my subscription with a software package that is now doing more harm than good.  Please provide a solution.  I am running Windows 10.  I just uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh Internet Security package, but no change.  As stated, I had the full download speed in the past.

All data previously supplied was on a desktop via wired (LAN) connection.

Thank you for the information. Please open AVG Internet Security and click on Menu->Settings->Components. Disable firewall component and check if Internet Speed improves.

There was no improvement of speed by disabling the firewall component.

Dennis, please be informed that if you're downloading anything from internet, then the downloaded files is getting scanned by AVG to make sure that your computer is protected. So it's usual/normal that the download speed will be slow down a bit if you're running AVG Internet Security on your computer.
