We would request you to run AVG remover tool to completely remove AVG and then re install it.
Please click this link http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
1. Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
2. After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your computer.
3. After the restart, manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of My computer.
4. Once uninstalled download the installation file using the link : http://www.avg.com/download to reinstall your AVG program.
5. Run the downloaded file to start the installation process.
6. Follow the instructions on your screen.
7. Complete the installation and restart your computer.

Today I got a new problem with AVG AntiVirus Free 2016. The tab "Idendity Protection" tells me that it is not active (turned off). When I click on the "recover" button I see for one second the message "turned on" but immediately followed by the message "turned off". I also tried to turn it on under "Options-Advanced Settings" but still the same behaviour. In my Windows logbook I detected the following error: "The AVGIDSAgent-service has been stopped with specific service fault %%-536753635". What is the problem? Please help me.

We are glad to know that the issue has been resolved. Thank you so much for letting us know. You may get this error when the 'Link scanner' component in your AVG program has missed some important updates. Reinstalling the program will restore all the missed files. Thank you.
