We understand your concern. Please be informed that the "Identity Protection" tab is renamed to "Software" in the latest version. And it is same as the "Identity protection" in previous version.

I have the AVG Internet Security pro package (purchased on licence) and I recently noticed that the AVG Identity Protection Service is sucking up a quarter to a third of my CPU usage. This is unacceptable.
I've searched for an AVG customer help number but haven't been able to find one. If you follow the technical support process it says that phone customer service is only available to paying customers, however I still can't find a line to call.
The form simply refers me to Facebook/Twitter or to this Community board, which is in itself a severe irritation. I have called AVG service in the past but can no longer find a number.
In any case, I've searched how to disable this Identity Protection Service, and apparently you simply select the "Identity" tab and disable it. However my AVG dashboard has no Identity tab. It has five: Computer, Web, Software, Email and Firewall. And I can find no Identity option within any of those.
This is quite disconcerting. If anybody can help me either fix the problem or disable the service, that would be brilliant.
