I am really thinking of going to another protection system, I have a very new and high performance PC. and this is what my screenshot looks like. I have 9 fans in my tower and they start spinning like hell (the computer normally runs below 15 degrees celcius) This is how the AVG Identity Protection Service is ruining my performance:
Please do something about this!

Hi,
Can anybody else tell me whether they are suffering from high CPU and RAM usage for the AVG Identity Protection Service. I'm running Windows 10 64bit, and am seeing AVGIDPS taking 18% CPU, and currently 6.4GB or RAM, but have seen it double that.
What the hell is it doing, and how can I get it to stop?
Cheers,
Steve.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, this is not the expected behavior from our product. CPU and Memory usage can be high because of many reasons, it also depends upon the system configuration.
Please share us the screenshot of the AVG process running in your computer from task manager to verify and assist you further.
Thanks,
Vishnu Vardan

I'd say it's made no difference. Upon reboot it's still taking 10%+ CPU, and the RAM is increasing by about 10MB per minute.
Hello Steve,
We do understand your concern. Could you please send us the screenshot(http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of the AVG process running in your computer. And also let us know the AVG version installed in your computer?

The end.
Hello Steve,
Thank you for the information. Upon checking with the screenshot we can see that AVG ID Component is running at 18%, we wish to keep you informed that the percentage will vary from time to time. it is a normal behavior of your AVG program. Thank you for understanding.
Hello Steve,
We have emailed you for the steps to collect error logs from your computer. Please follow the same and see if that fix this issue.
Thank you
You are joking, right? Have you read the whole thread?
The service sits at 18% CPU consistently, and the memory usage continues to increase until takes up over 14GB if I don't reboot.
It sounds like a memory leak to me, and I can't imagine that the CPU is meant to be utilised in this way.
Have tried a full de-install (with the removal app), followed by reinstall, and it has made no difference. The Identity Protection Service is running at 19% CPU, and up to 360MB after just half an hour.
Am I the only one having this problem? I tend to leave my machine on all the time, so the memory loss shows up eventually as it runs out. Maybe people don't notice if they don't leave their the machine on for long periods?
