We're here to help. Please confirm the current version of AVG program that is installed on your PC. Open task manager, click on 'Processes' tab and check 'AVG Installer' process is running. If it is, right click on it and select 'End task' to kill the process. If there are multiple AVG Installer processes, end them all and reboot your PC. Now try to update AVG and it should work.
I am having problems updating my AVG Internet Security. When I go to Update it jumps straight to "Step 1/3 - Initializing, please wait" without updating the Virus definitions. Then nothing happens. I tried several times to make something happen but it is as if the update system has completely stalled. Even with leaving it "updating/initializing" for two hours nothing happened. I tried to Repair/Uninstall/Re-install the AVG IS but always get a pop-up message saying "Setup is already running. Please try to start the setup later". So, am stuck! Any ideas what this might be?
