AVG interferes with network adapter

Since a month or two I experience problems with my network adapter in combination with AVG. Each time my computer is in sleeping mode and I get it out of sleep, the networkadapter works for some minutes, but then stops. Only when I freshly restart my computer, it continues to work. When I stop AVG, my network adapter has no problems. I have already stopped the Network Inspect options of AVG, as well as the AVG Firewall Helper. The interesting thing is that at first I had this problem with my adapter but then there appeared to be some Application Update by AVG after which my network adapter worked fine again. But very soon afterwards the problems restarted and this is very annoying as I need my computer very much for my translation job and now each time I lose my internet connection!

My network adapter is 802.11n Wireless PCI Express Card LAN Adapter
and I have Windows 7.

I hope you can help.

Good afternoon,

Since I think a few months (with holiday in between) I experience again the same trouble! I wonder what AVG is changing each time to their Antivirus program, so that my network adapter again loses its connection many times a day! It is SOOO annoying! I did switch off all shields/components and tried whatever could be tried. I even uninstalled AVG and only re-installed Web + E-mail today, but even so the same problem continues to exist. I hope very much you can help or that very soon an update is upcoming which solves this problem!

Kind regards,
Ruth

Thank you! I said that today I reinstalled AVG, so it should be updated  Moreover, I only installed Web & Email, no Enhanced Firewall or whatever other shields/components. Also, I do not have any other antivirus installed. Just an hour or so ago I switched off all options in Basic Protection/Detections (except Detections itself), as well as the second to fourth options in Web Shield. Hope it helps! I am just at the end of my tether…

Hello Ruth,
Thank you for contacting AVG Community Support.
We are sorry to know this. This isn't the experience we want you to have. We'll check and help you.
Could you please confirm whether you have installed any antivirus application other than AVG on your device?
May I know whether you are using a wireless network?
Also may I confirm how did you suspect that this issue is caused by AVG Firewall?

Hello Lathika,

I don't know how I can properly respond to your e-mail otherwise than just using this Answer Button. Please explain how else if that is more appropriate for you.
Thanks for your response! Yes, I am using a wireless network. It must be caused by AVG Antivirus Free, for when I switch it off, I have no problems at all.
I have no other antivirus application installed.

Kind regards, Ruth

Did you receive my e-mails? I did collect and send the logs, as the issue resurfaced!

Hello Ruth,
Thank you for contacting AVG community.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please make sure that you have updated the AVG Internet Security. If the issue persists please follow the below instructions:

  • Open AVG Internet Security.
  • Click the Web & Email.
  • Click Open above Enhanced Firewall.
  • Select the Networks tab.
  • Click Show settings next to the current network which you are connected with.
  • Change it to I trust this network.
If you have any conflicting antivirus installed on your computer do uninstall those applications.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you! I did receive the e-mail and when the problems reoccur, I hope to send you the diagnostic logs. By the way, there can hardly be any logs yet, as just today I reinstalled AVG!

Hello i have the same problem …

Thank you for writing back to us, Ruth.

We'd like to inform you that you cannot reply to the automated email that was sent to inform you that a reply has been posted for a query. Please keep up the conversation over this community post/thread.

Since the issue isn't surfacing while your AVG Antivirus Free is disabled, let's temporarily disable the individual shields/components of your AVG Antivirus Free program one by one and narrow down which shield/component is causing the issue.
Refer to this article for detailed instructions to temporarily disable the individual shields/components of your AVG Antivirus Free program.
Keep us updated.

Thanks. Because this afternoon I switched off all options in Basic Protection/Detections, I also switched off the Report option there; I have now switched it on again, as I think it is needed for making any logs
