All I had to do is go to Settings > Basic Protection > Enhanced Firewall > View Firewall Rules
on the Network Rules tab, click on More then select Add New Rule
Create the following rule
I have ran into this multiple times. For those that run into this, one thing that has resolved this issue for me that is not mentioned here, is to make sure the network is set to Private not public. This can be found under settings. If you see that the network is set to Public for the network connection, that will end up blocking the Plex communication.

Dude, when I disable AVG, Plex works but firewall settings don't work. I solved it like this. There is a graphic with an empty button called avg firewall, it doesn't work at all.

In this case, we need to change some settings in the Firewall.

Hi,
I recently bought a new computer and reinstalled AVG Internet Security 2020. Since then my PLEX has stopped working on my iPad and Apple TV. I have discovered that the cause of this is the Enhanced Firewall. I have attempted to follow instructions given on previous posts, but unfortunately the instructions are a couple of years old and do not seem to be working. The only way I can watch media via plex is to turn off the Firewall. Please can you advise on how I can solve this issue! Thank you so much
