Thanks for the response.  I wasn't aware of that I just know that at the moment AVG is blocking all internet traffic and Avast isn't.  I'm a little uncomfortable just getting by on the free version of the software but I am loathe to shell out for a licence when I have already paid for a licence already (albeit for a product that doesn't seem to work at the moment)

AVG Internet Security is currently blocking all web traffic on my windows 10 laptop.  I have followed the advice on a number of other posts, namely using the removal tool and reinstalling the product to no avail.  Currently I have completely uninstalled and replaced it with Avast instead, however I am now left with  2 year licence for a product that I cannot use.
