AVG Internet Security Business Edition 2013 hangs at Boot Sector (C:\)

Megan, The AVG (SMB) support in the UK (http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums.tpl-stdfull?sec=thread&act=show&id=190509) will probably be dealing with your query. Also, For a more direct contact method you may wish to try this new link (http://www.avg.com/gb-en/customer-support-business).

Alan,  this is the link you sent to me yesterday - I reposted this morning…which is the correct one as I would like some feedback on this asap, my computer has yet to complete a full scan since I upgraded to 2013.  At this point, it matters not who deals with it (though I am in the US) just that it is dealt with…as I stated, I had seen a similar issue in the legacy forum but obviously couldn't get any more detail.

It usually hangs at 0% while stuck at Objects scanned: 2 Currently Scanning: Boot sectors Current Object: Boot Sector (C:).  I changed the settings to also Scan for Rootkits and now it progresses to 16% Objects Scanned: 3745 Currently Scanning: Boot Sectors Current Object: Boot sector (C:).  It has now been stuck there overnight - 17 hours and counting…

Another thing possibly worth mentioning (I saw it mentioned in a legacy post) is that I have to refresh before I can see any changes made in my Windows Explorer (I am running Windows 7 Enterprise) - changes being creating/deleting folders, files and renaming folders or files - not sure if it relates but can't hurt?

Hi Megan, could you send us some information from this machine? Could you run this tool:  http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe
once it has completed click save and then upload it to our FTP server… Could you let us know the name of the fille? http://www.avg.com/gb-en/faq.num-2142

Best Regards,
