Windows 7 Professional (SP-1), 32-bit MSI desktop, 4.0GB RAM, 59GB Patriot Memory, 64GB SSD ATA DEVICE. Doing trial version of Internet Security, using AVG2015 Free. Since installing IS I have been flagged every morning @ boot that I have a corrupted file (EID_pe_iscorrupted). Since I am barely past Beginner I do not know what to do with this. I am also seeing on my task bar, after rebooting (when AVG tells me to "complete the process" ), the signal strength indicator tells me that I do not have connection to the Internet, but as far as I can ascertain I do have connection and seemingly have no trouble going anywhere. In order to get the Signal Strength indicator to show connected I must reboot again. I have run SFC twice before allowing AVG to heal, once in safe boot and once normal boot, and come up clean both times. As far as I can tell AVG scans do not show this corrupted file otherwise. Malwarebytes apparently does not catch this at all. Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool is not catching this. Disabled AVG and down-loaded another program (AdvanceSystemCare8 by I/OBit) to see if it would catch, and it did not. All AVG protections show good and active. Have looked around in Q & A but can't seem to find a majority of opinion or a firm direction to go with this problem. I have checked on Net and seems as though I'm being lead into replacing the corrupted file but my knowledge level is not up to this and I'm afraid I'll do more harm than good, and doubly afraid that I'm chasing a ghost and worrying about nothing. Can anybody tell me what is going on?
Hi Paul,
You can ignore corrupted files, it is not threat.
Thanks
