I had the same problem. Since AVG does not have actual support people (only forums and the like), I could not get the problem fixed. Of course, they will SELL you a support product, which for me is anathema (I have a problem with paying a company to fix a problem it created.) So, you can do what I did - purchase Avira. It works, they have actual support people to help you, and they are not constantly trying to sell you more stuff.
No more AVG for me.

My AVG Internet Security Firewall has started blocking all access to the internet, despite being on 'Automatic Mode.' When I disable the firewall to change it to 'Allow All,' this resolves the issue and allows access.
I am using Windows 8.1 and AVG Internet Security version 2015.0.6030 with a paid licence that runs until October 2016.
I have checked the forums and reset the firewall to default settings already and this does not fix the issue. Can someone please advise on what to try next?
