None of those 'new features' or your 'ongoing improvements' compare to gutting the two programs that convinced me to buy into AVG Ultimate. You can pass this on to your 'developers' my comments but, as in the past, my input has accomplished nothing to improve AVG Ultimate. I think that your 'improvements' have done nothing for either AVG Internet Security or AVG Tune up except slow them down. (And I do not appreciate 'notifications' everytime AVG Internet Security runs in the background telling me that a problem was found and then, when I look to see what the problem was, the response is "You're Good" AFTER another scan wasting even more of my valuable time.
Missed 06, here it is
Hi John. As a follow-up, the alert notification, specific to the Smart Scan, may be associated to a scheduled custom scan.
The following AVG self help article, https://is.gd/HKFs4R, described in detail how to access and manage your custom scans.
To clarify, with a scheduled custom scan, regardless if their is an actual problem, you would receive the alert to perform the scan, as it is respectively scheduled.
I trust this further follow-up helps resolve your concern. Regards, Shawn
Well that stinks.
First you remove Duplicate File Finder, now you remove Anti-Spam.
I guess I wil not renew come January - AVG Ultimate is now just about useless.
The chat link is now up and allows me to initiate a chat.
You can close out this
I tried entering this using the 'contact us' page and trying to initiate a chat but nothing happened.
This is formatted this way because I copied (Ctrl-C) the version info from the 'about' page and this formatting is what happened when I pasted it in (Ctrl-V).
So, how do I get back all the entries that I had in, especially, the Blocked list?
How do I get it so that I can put in new entries that do NOT get saved when leaving the input page and coming back?
Hello John. Thank you again for writing back, and I apologize for my delayed response.
There might have been a slight misunderstanding on my part, as you indeed referenced the alert notification, accompanied by the many screenshots of the performed Smart Scan, which is the intended behavior of the alert associated to the Smart Scan. However, in the last referenced screenshot, "missed 06," the alert is still shown per the confirmation of the scan. Upon clicking "done," the alert notification should have gone away. Alternatively, you can select "got it" without having performed the scan, to clear the alert.
In the event you do not want to be bothered with future alert notifications, you can simply disable the notification feature.
The following AVG self help article, https://is.gd/Vw1rSh, provides detailed instruction to manage popup notifications in AVG AntiVirus.
I trust this explanation helps further clarify your concern. Regards, Shawn

You further shared and referenced screenshots of various scan tasks performed by the Smart Scan component, which appear your computer is safe from being compromised. You expressed frustration with received alert notifications from your AVG Internet Security. In the first series of screenshots, there is a referenced alert notification received, however in the latter series of screenshots shared, the alert notification is cleared. I can only speculate that you already addressed the nature of the alert notification.
If again at a later time, you receive an alert notification, to select the "details" icon associated to the notification, for more information specific to the received alert notification.
I trust this explanation and information help clarify your concern. Please feel free to write back with any comments or questions. Regards, Shawn
We’re sorry this update left you frustrated.
We strive to provide the best protection possible, and our research and comprehensive review of the feature showed that Anti-Spam wasn’t offering enough value to our customers.
And given that email providers nowadays provide strong embedded anti-spam filters, we decided to focus our development efforts on adding value in other areas.
Recently we introduced new features like Remote Access Shield, Password Protection, improved botnet protection, etc.
We think these new features along with ongoing improvements to our other many features provide advanced protection for our customers.
If you would like to share a feedback, click on "Menu->About->Submit Feedback" from AVG Internet Security program interface.
If you would like to provide a feedback on adding duplicate finder and other features to new AVG TuneUp, do let us know. We will forward it to concern team.
Thank you.
I'm really tired of debugging this program for AVG, I did that for 35 years working at IBM, now that I'm retired, it is not my problem.
Missed 06, here it is
John, if you submit the feedback through program interface, it will reach our product management team directly.
Unless there is a problem, AVG Internet Security will not show any notifications.
In order to investigate "You're Good" AFTER another scan" message, please provide a screenshot of it.
If possible, please do include the screenshot of notification that appeared from AVG Internet Security saying as problem was found.
You can post the screenshot by clicking on 'Image' symbol from 'Answer' field.

Hi John,
We would like to clarify that AVG Anti-Spam feature was removed and it will not be available on 20.8 version.
Since the feature was removed, it will not be possible to get the blacklisted email address that you added on AVG Anti-Spam.
Our technical and sales chat support channel are working fine.
Could you please check whether you are able to reach our chat support using this https://support.avg.com/support_sales_chat? link?
Hi John. Thank you very much for taking the time to write. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.
I reviewed the exchanged dialogue, and I understand you initially wrote and you were concerned about the Anti-Spam feature, that has since been discontinued in the latest version of AVG Internet Security, version 20.8.
As my colleagues referenced, this feature was determined by our development team to be outdated, as most email providers today offer really strong anti-spam protection already built into their platform, and this will allow for AVG to focus our effort on other product feature development.
I understand this is an inconvenience to you, of which I apologize, as this was not the intended experience we wanted for you to have had. I assure you, your feedback does not fall of deaf ears, of which I have shared with our development team.
Thank you for providing the screenshots, John.
We've forwarded this to our senior technical team and we will get back to you at the earliest possible.
We're sorry to know that, John. This isn't the experience we want you to have.
If you reconsider, please provide us the requested info to investigate further on this.
