I have been using AVG successfully for some time on my Windows 10 system.  Suddenly I get the following message under AVG Internet Security:  There are no active components.

Also, I am unable to connect with most sites on the internet, including Outlook, Facebook, and almost all other.

Thanks for the quick response, Alan.  I have already tried this twice, but it starts to repair and then I get a message that says: AVG Repair Failed (0xC0070652  General Error (0x0652) ).   Do you have any further suggestions?

  1. Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
    4)Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C:\ drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.
    Note : Please use the AVG Remover tool mentioned on the article to uninstall the AVG program more effectively.

Hello Carol,
We regret the inconvenience caused. We regret for the inconvenience caused. On checking your account we could see that you have active product of AVG anti virus.  We would request you to remove previously installed AVG program traces from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Ultimate.
Note:If you have installed any other Antivirus  programs like AVAST, NORTON, MCAFEE or KASPERSKY, Please uninstall it first to avoid conflicts when installing AVG.
Once you have uninstalled from your system,try to follow the steps which mentioned below.
Remover and Download:
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe .
1.a) please ignore the restart and try to run the AVG clear: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe .
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
