AVG Internet Security - Out of Date - Update Fails

Hi All
My AVG says the application is out of date and the update option runs forever, usually with no result. Once it came back and said it failed try again? I reviewed the troubleshooting steps and repaired the app but still same. How do I get it to update the application?
