AVG Internet Security - Outlook error 0x800CCC1A

Hi Bob,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, could you please confirm once if you have tried disabling AVG Firewall and then checking the issue? Please check once and let us know.

Thank you!

Hi,
I was running AVG free (very happily) and somehow managed to install the Internet Security trial version. My Outlook email immediately stopped working with the error 0x800CCC1A (your server does not support the encryption type - it's a gmail account by the way). I have looked around on the MS forum and tried to fix this but the fix seems to require turning of Windows Firewall. I can't do this as this says it is managed by AVG. So now I am pretty frustrated and would like to tell AVG that but hey ho, there is not way to do that! Any help would be appreciated. Bob

Hi,

I cannot see how to disable the 'AVG firewall'. There does not seem to be any settings, in AVG, to do this and AVG has locked out these settings in Windows.

Please tell me how to correct this issue!

Bob
