AVG Internet Security prevents other Google Chrome profiles from working

Hello,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. This is not an expected behaviour of AVG Internet Security. We need to check which component in AVG Internet Security causing this issue. Kindly disable AVG components one by one by following below article and check the status :

Temporarily disabling AVG AntiVirus protection (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus)

Please try the above steps and let us know. Keep us updated. Thank you.

Hi,

My laptop is running on Windows 10. And just today, the same issue is now affecting my primary profile in Chrome. I tried using Microsoft Edge. It seems fine.

I reinstalled AVG Internet Security on my new laptop. I have 2 profiles in Google Chrome. My primary profile is working fine but AVG prevents my second profile from working normally. All sites (even AVG's) via my second profile will end up with an error that says "This site can’t be reached. The webpage at *insert url* might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_SSL_BAD_RECORD_MAC_ALERT". The only solution was to add the sites to "exception", which doesn't make sense. I can't be adding every single url in the exception list.

Appreciate some advice here. Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply. It seems the component that's causing this issue is "web shield".

BTW, the url you provided to disable AVG AntiVirus protection is not working. It says "Sorry, we're currently hard at work improving our Support Center."

Thank you.
