This isn’t the expected behavior. Could you share a screenshot/image of your computer login screen to assist you further? You can take image using your phone.

I followed requests to update. The computer then restarted. I entered my password for my profile and got the message that profile information was un available. I was able to get on the guest setting ( no password) but am locked out from all my files . I had some urgent matters to do.
