Hello, Jeff.
I regret for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please add the VPN application to AVG's exceptions list as per the steps in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields. Also make sure the below firewall settings are applied and let us know if the issue persists.
Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Network Profile and change it to Private.
Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Policies->System Rules and set all rules to "Enabled".
Have the same problem
when i try to connect with Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
all traffic blocked by AVG and i cannot use RDP , Mail client and others.
AVG 18.4.3056 new version . Can not make firewall rules in admin panel for organizations .
Can not turn off firewall on client computer.
Thank you for the quick response.
- The link doesn’t contain enough instructions. Windscribe VPN has an extension within each browser and a desktop application. The desktop application location is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windscribe". However, this isn’t the execution file as there is no .exe file, it’s merely the program file. Is this location all I need to put into the exclusion line?
- In network profiles, I have “Gateway.pace.com” which is the router set to Public. The Windscribe IKEv2 is now set to Private. And the Ethernet adapter is set to public. You wrote to set it private, but I have 3 items in the Profile. Which need to be set private and which are okay with setting to public?
- In the Firewall Policies (it’s actually Enhanced Firewall), there is NOTHING labeled System Rules. There is a Default Rules but no option for Enabled. There are 4 Blocks in the Preferences section, but they’re labeled Preferences not Rules. If you’re correct, I cannot find this area.
My second problem below wasn’t addressed at all. How about the excessive time between asking to print something and the printer actually doing the printing. That’s been affected since the new AVG update.
Thanks,
Jeff
A few days ago, AVG updated their Internet Security program. The latest version is 18.4.3056. That update has caused frequent connection interruptions of my Windscribe VPN. I sent a file to Windscribe and they claim AVG is scanning every few minutes causing the interruption in the connection. They advised I try it again but disable AVG and indeed, the interruption of connection ceased. How do we fix this?
Second problem: Sending a file to my printer used to take seconds…now it takes minutes before the Brother printer actually prints…or I get an error message that the file couldn't be printed. How do we fix this?
Both problems started with the latest AVG Internet Security program update within the last several days. Prior to that, all worked okay with no problems.
Hello V A,
Please change the below steps from AVG Internet Security and check if that fix the issue.
Open AVG Internet Security installed on your computer, click on Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->click on "Network Profile(Left side of the interface) and change the profile to "Private" if selected in "Public". Once this is done, select "Policies->System Rules", enable all the settings that are not configured.
cannot doit becouse in organization user does not have permission for this settings.
In remote administration console - not see this settings
Jeff, I recommend you to set all the profiles to private. If firewall is causing the issue, that should also fix issues with your printer. I have also sent you an email with instructions to get connected with our remote assistance team. Please follow those instructions to get in touch with them to resolve your issue.
Thank you for providing the screenshots V A,
We want to get that sorted out, and to do so, please contact our business team.
Best regards,
Alok.

V, General topic info… "Business products" support… For assistance have a look @ this AVG webpage (https://support.avg.com/business_contact_form?l=en_US). Please be informed that this Community forum basically deals with 'home' version of AVG products. Furthermore the "Business products" area has now been removed from the 'Community topics' list @ the top LHS of this page. Finally please be informed that the support for "Business products" is not now available within this Community.

All profiles WERE public prior to your suggestion today to "set it private". They've been public with all the resultant problems. This will NOT fix the problem with the intermittent connection NOR the printer problem. What else do you recommend?
Thank you for the quick response.
